Rehabilitation

Avanté Rehabilitation Center shares a partnership with Paramount Rehabilitation Company to provide on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Our therapists aim to assist our patients with regaining as much of their independence as possible. It is our privilege and duty to provide the highest quality of therapy services possible. Paramount Rehabilitation Company accomplishes this by employing the most well-trained therapists and using state-of-the-art techniques.

Paramount’s occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants exercise patience, understanding, and compassion when dealing with their patients. Patience is important, as some people may not show rapid progress. Understanding and compassion are vital qualities when working with those who have disabilities that require them to undergo extensive and sometimes painful treatment in order to improve their function.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists and physical therapy assistants strive to optimize each patient’s recovery and well-being using exercise, education, therapeutic modalities, and communication with other healthcare specialists. This can include anything from teaching a patient to walk again after an injury to helping improve speed, strength, and agility. In addition to treatments given in the nursing facility, the therapist will also work hand-in-hand with the patient to develop a personal home therapy program for when they are no longer under the therapist’s care. This is done to ensure that the healing process continues and to prevent future recurrence of the treated condition.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants strive to help each patient with physical and cognitive disabilities to regain, develop, or master everyday skills in order to live independent, productive, and satisfying lives. They provide the necessary tools for performing the activities of daily living and self-care in the safest manner possible.  Occupational therapists develop individualized treatment plans, which enhance each patient’s ability to perform daily functions such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and eating. Therapists perform in-home evaluations for those patients who are returning home to ensure the safest possible transition.

Speech Therapy

Our speech language pathologists evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Common disorders include apraxia, dysarthria, stuttering, aphasia, dysphagia, and other medical conditions such as laryngeal cancer or Parkinson’s disease. These disorders may result in poor nutrition or dehydration; less enjoyment of eating, drinking, or social activities; embarrassment or isolation in social situations; and risk of aspiration, which can lead to pneumonia and lung disease. Speech-language pathologists also have a variety of treatments to address cognitive-communication impairments such as attention, memory, and problem-solving.
